The Oppikoppi Countdown Continues

The Oppikoppi Countdown Continues

Aug 6, 2012

Alright. First things first. If you have a smartphone, go and download the Oppikoppi app – it’s freaking cool – includes maps and all the good info – but what I really like is that it allows you to ‘favourite’ your bands, and it then makes a neat little schedule for your weekend.

Tidy.

Anyway, on that note – here is how my weekend is looking band-wise…

Thursday

Joshua Grierson – awesome acoustic folk, with some added looping and emotive vocals. Nice way to start the fest.

Tidal Waves – Reggae to pump up the mood, these guys rock live

Taxi Violence – Never seen them (I know, I know) – so hoping they blow me away

Shadowclub – Always one of my favourite live acts. They failed a bit at Sowing The Seeds, so hope they are back on top of their game

Pestroy – Not my best band, but they did rock at Ramfest – party times guaranteed

Friday

Jeremy Loops – Most amped for the Loops! This guy is going to destroy Oppi

Josie Field – Insane vocals and guitars, always a treat

Desmond and the Tutus – Keen to hear some tracks from the new album live

Saturday

The day of the big international artists – I’ll be honest, just as amped for the locals, they had better bring the good shit to keep up!

Eagles of Death Metal – Even without Josh Homme, still a big draw

Enter Shikari – Saw them at Download in 07, were a bit strange for me – let’s see if I like them better a few years down the line…

Kongos – Always a jol

Seether – Most excited for them. Chances of some old Saron Gas? Let’s see!

Bullet For My Valentine  – If they don’t pull out again…
